Gotta list my fav Vocaloid pairings for the hell of it. 
Make sure you're prepared well or you'll get blinded by the wall of text.

First off, I like Gakupo/Luka, VY1/VY2 and IA/Yukari (yes, it's yuri XD) - but I approve of ALL of the pairings between the above 7 (they're my favorite loids after all). Even Gakupo/VY2, even though I'm not a yaoi fan. (My reasoning? I like purple and pink, that's why.
)
The rest are:
-> Kaito/Meiko and their genderbends as well - because they're the first male and female Japanese VB
(alternative: Kaito/Lapis - because their blue schemes match quite well XD)
-> Leon/Lola - the first male and female Engloid.
-> Len/Neru (alternative: Haku/Neru, Len/SeeU)
-> Rin/Nero (a response to the above)
-> SeeU/Oliver - Most of their collab songs prove that their sounds fit each other. (alternative: Miku/SeeU - they're both overrated lol. )
-> Prima/Tonio - Opera pair FTW!
-> Big Al/CUL - Released at the same date, and similar color schemes. (alternative: Big Al/Lapis - the biggest and the smallest loids. )
-> Mew/Kiyoteru - this awesome monochrome pair is inspired by WickedObsession. XD (alternative: Mew/VY1 - Dunno why but they really fit each other. One listening of their Magnet cover and I fell in love. 8D)
-> Miki/Piko - I always thought Piko is Miki's Voyakiloid or something. They look REALLY similar... XD (Alternative: Miki/Akikoroid - again, similar schemes, but in different way.
)
-> Yuki/Ryuto - well, children pairing. Even though Yuki (9) is older than Ryuto (5)...But that's exactly my fetish
-> Lui/Iroha - Girly boy and a tomboy respectively, not to mention tangentially similar color schemes.
-> Lily/Merli - As someone suggested, Lily has a bee motif and Merli has a butterfly motif. Not to mention contrasting colors.
-> Bruno/Clara - well, same as Kaito/Meiko or Leon/Lola above. Except, it's in Spanish.
-> Sweet Ann/Ueki-Loid - This quickly came up in my mind lol. (Infos on Ueki-Loid - vocaloid.wikia.com/wiki/Ueki-l… - he's basically a private VB like Akikoroid). His voicebank is made of listening Ueki Hitoshi's recorded songs and then capturing every single available syllables - the real Ueki is dead, lol. So he's a Zombieloid (or Ghostloid, if you prefer). And Sweet Ann looks like a zombie (but so does Big Al, but yeah). XD
More BFFs than anything
-> Gumi/Sonika - This has been done before, ain't it?
-> Gumi/Miku (may add Miki there too) - I consider them the "front man" of their companies
-> Meiko/CUL - I see both of them as tough girls in red, and CUL sees Meiko as a senior figure.
-> Meiko/Haku - The drunken pair :3
-> Galaco/Mayu - Newest one in my book. Both has blonde & rainbow hair, and Galaco dresses in white while Mayu goes all black. Quite fitting ain't it? (I sometimes throw Mew or SeeU there too)
-> Ring/Rion - Both look like maids... (Okay, I think this is somewhat random)
-> Miriam/Miku/Mew - At first it was Miku/Miriam for being the third loids from Japan and English, but when Mew comes out, I thought either Mew/Miku (first Japanese Vocaloid3 and Vocaloid2) or Mew/Miriam (First Japanese Vocaloid3 and third English Vocaloid1 - well, an inversion in many counts, aside from contrasting hair color) looks nice, then I thought: Why not a threesome? 8D
-> Meiko/Lola/Clara - The "First Red Ladies".
-> Kaito/Leon/Bruno - The "First Blue Gentlemen".
-> SeeU/Iroha/Mew - The "Cat Crews".
-> Yukari/Rion/Mayu - The "Raving Rabbits". (Rayman reference lol)
-> Kaito/Len/Gakupo - Well, the VaNan'Ice.
-> Kiyoteru/Piko/VY2 - A counterpart of the above
-> Kiyoteru/Yuki - Well, teacher-student relationship.
-> Len/Piko/Oliver (might add Lui there too) - well, the shota team?
-> Miku/Ring (dunno why.)
-> Ring/CUL (mostly for their matching voices)
-> Gakupo/Big Al - I gotta believe they're the hottest Japanese and English vocaloids respectively (and I know that I'm not the only one)
